2026_hsfi2026_2_boundinBox_WithOptions

by HansDeJongEhv

This is an update of the 2026_hsfi2026_2 project by Susan Ettenheim.
It can be steered with a variable Mode whether or not to stitch the entire pattern, only the boxes in satinstitch or both.
The idea is to first stich the entire pattern, then put some fabric to the back and then stitch the boxes only so that all the jumpstitches at the back are hidden.

The main design is in a different color than the boxes only. That forces the machine to stop so that you can put the fabric under the hoop.

In case you embroider the main design and the boxes separtely, I drew a bounding box around the whole design in a different color. The intent of that is to make sure that the outer dimensions of the design are equal for the case with the full design and the boxes-only case. So that the embroidery machine, when loaded with the two designs will position them exactly equal. I did not test it, but I am pretty sure. I am also pretty sure that there would be a problem if you do not have the size equal.

The idea of the bounding box is NOT that you embroider it. When the machine stops to get the color changed, you cancel the embroidery operation, put the second piece of fabric under the first, tape them together and load the boxes-only design. Then you embroider that until the machine stops wanting to have the color changed. Then you stop and take the finished product out.

The blocs BBInitNumbers, BBUpdateNumbers and BBDraw can probably, with some adaptation, be used in other designs as well.

The amount of columns and rows can be set to your liking with just updating values at the beginning.
